The space of Videnie becomes a stage for audiovisual performances – from experimental concerts to ambient evenings with conceptual visualizations.
Expect a program with international and Bulgarian artists presenting their live projects where sound and image move in sync.
The first edition of Ambient Nights at Videnie presents a special audio-visual set by Vladzen that weaves experimental cinema from the 20s and 30s with contemporary audio-visual improvisations and ambient sound in real time.
The selection includes fragments from early European avant-garde and Dadaist cinema - a time when cinema went beyond narrative and began to experiment with light, movement and rhythm as pure forms of expression. This was the time when artists such as Hans Richter, Fernand Léger, René Clair, Man Ray and Dziga Vertov emerged in search of the "poetry of movement" and the visual equivalent of music.
Vladzen will interweave these iconic images from the era of visual experimentation and industrial modernity with his own audio-visual interpretations and digital adaptations created specifically for the Videnie space. The set will unfold as a living journey through the time of cinema - from the first visual experiments to the contemporary aesthetics of ambient.
