Videnie LIVE: Margaux Gazur
ORPHEUS presents WHERE FORGOTTEN MEMORIES BLOOM
A series of ambient live concerts curated by ORPHEUS under the theme of Sound Resurrection.
ORPHEUS and VIDENIE invite you to the third edition of this sonic journey, featuring Margaux Gazur, a sound artist and multi-instrumentalist whose intimate, textured compositions transform fragments of everyday life into evocative sonic landscapes.
A classically trained pianist who studied at the Conservatoire, Margaux Gazur has since moved beyond traditional theory to freely compose and improvise. Working with electric guitar, clarinet, found objects and electronics, she weaves organic sounds, field recordings and improvisation into a deeply personal sonic language. Drawing from classical, electronic music, musique concrète and experimental jazz, her work has been presented at festivals such as Atonal, Waking Life and Meakusma.
Rooted in memory, childhood, her Vietnamese roots and the sounds of the places she encounters, her work moves between the familiar and the unknown, creating moments of quiet intensity and sensory discovery. Her approach to field recording began as a way to capture daily life in Hanoi as a sonic memory, later expanding into soundscapes for her father’s martial arts videos – using recordings of traditional weapons and celebration instruments – and ultimately into her own projects.
Inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, and the Resurrection Flower said to have blossomed from Orpheus’s tears, the evening explores memory, transformation and the power of sound to awaken what lies dormant within us. Through layered textures and evocative soundscapes, Margaux invites us to reconnect with forgotten feelings, distant places and fragments of ourselves that remain beneath the surface.
An evening where memories bloom and sound becomes resurrection.
